Joy Diving Australia | Our Story | Neurodivergent Consultancy
Welcome to Joy Diving Australia
My name is Sarah Eagle – your neurodivergent consultant, keynote speaker and formerly, a mental health advocate.
Led by a unique approach, I deeply understand the needs of neurodivergent individuals – as a family member, friend, consultant, forensic clinician, former mental health advocate and being neurodivergent myself.
Being able to guide other neurodivergent brains through decades of experience and a background in psychology (Bach. Psychology w. Hons) means I educate with understanding and empathy.
Creating a culture of belonging is my passion.
Focusing on bridging the gap and finding a common ground, whether that is with families, individuals or within the workplace, Joy Diving Australia’s sole mission is to alleviate suffering, and to help neurodivergent people live a purposeful and passionate life, free of stigma, shame and discrimination.
I’m so looking forward to you learning more about Joy Diving Australia and how we can help you.
Yours in care,

The Joy Diving Australia Story
Nice to meet you, my name is Sarah Eagle.
I’m a neurodivergent consultant, public speaker and previously, was a mental health advocate.
Most importantly – I’m neurodivergent myself.
I was led to learn more about the neurodivergent space after the tragic loss of my brother, Ben in 2001, who suffered life-long difficulties with mental ill-health. Ben went missing Mt Baw Baw during his final psychotic episode. Ten months after he went missing in 2001, I raised vital funds and awareness for mental ill-health through my initiative, Walking Feat, where I walked the Bibbulman Track in Western Australia in Ben’s memory.
In 2023, I launched Joy Diving Australia, which came about after my own autism and ADHD diagnosis. Joy Diving Australia has allowed me to help create a culture of belonging and education for neurodivergent brains.
In 2011, I started a PhD to explore the impact of stigma and how it could be changed across society. However, I couldn’t complete my PhD. Heck – it took me 17 years to complete my undergraduate degree! While I was a keynote speaker to thousands of people, my executive functioning challenges were at an all time high, I was struggling with sensory processing issues, and I was incredibly overwhelmed. Yet, I still didn’t receive a diagnosis until after I stepped out of my PhD.
Like me, many of my clients are diagnosed later in life – and having this diagnosis was like a cloak of compassion – you finally have a why for all of the experiences that lead you up to this moment in your life.
Backed by a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours, my approach to neurodivergent consultancy is to create a culture of belonging – to guide others with empathy, understanding and a willingness to see it from your perspective.
Whether you’re working on your own, as a family, or in a corporate setting, I can’t wait to work alongside you to address the views, challenges and roles we can play to support you in growing your knowledge and understanding of neurodiversity.
Your brain bestie,

Case studies
Female, late 40s
This client arrived in burnout thinking she may have ADHD. Suffering from overwhelm, low confidence and suicidal ideation, she was struggling with all of the different roles in her life. Her goals were to improve her mental health, create sustainable income, and to manage her business, life, health and relationships better.
The result:
We identified the client had numerous significant health conditions that were left untreated. By supporting her to find a new GP and getting her back on medications, we explored a potential ADHD diagnosis and the client with indeed diagnosed with ADHD. From here, the clients moods significantly improved, with the support of life affirming medications and lifestyle changes that also saw her double her income in the first month of working together.
Female, mature
Joy Diving Australia offered support to a mature mother regarding her adult daughter. The daughter had been in a psychiatric hospital once a year for many years, which was privately funded. The family was looking for extra guidance and support on their next steps.
The result:
At the end of the consult, the mother contacted Joy Diving Australia founder Sarah saying, “I learned more in that hour and a half with you than we have ever learned about our daughter’s brain. You have saved us $60k of private hospital fees.”
Female, early 20s
This female student was diagnosed later in life, accessing support in her 20s.
The result:
After sessions working together individually and learning how to manage her neurodivergence, she said, “I’ve learned more about my own unique brain in our sessions than I’ve ever learned – with all the other supports I’ve had since I was a kid.”
Male, late teens
Struggling with his neurodivergence, this client failed his first year of university twice.
The result:
Through guidance and learning about ways to support his brain to focus, break tasks down and complete work, he has just passed his first assessment and hopes to continue working towards a successful study plan in the future.
